After having heard the tales of my friend’s Ryan and Eddie brewing I have been wanting to start myself for some time. I then met more and more people who themselves were home brewers. The urge grew. Then I decided to go ahead and buy a book on home brewing so that I could at least learn what I would be getting myself into in the first place. It was at that point that I asked my wife to pick up a copy of The Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charles Papazian. This book was recommended by Eddie and, from what I have read so far, I highly recommend it myself. For a couple weeks I read the book and many online sources. Then one fateful day my wife said that we could budget to buy the equipment necessary to brew beer!
On Saturday July 25, 2009 I rushed out of work and picked up Tom so we could go make this fateful purchase. I already knew that I was going to buy the Brewer’s Best Deluxe Equipment Kit. So we headed over to the Maryland Homebrew warehouse in a rush to make it there before closing, purchased the equipment and ingredients, and then went home and had a beer. No, we did not start quite yet. That was not until the next day and will be in my next post.
